Past Mentor

A past mentor wants me to share the view of the mountain he chooses to stand on. Calling the mountain I choose to stand on “suffering.” His view of me is that I’m losing. That I’m not meeting my potential. The definition of “success” defined by monetary position with the exclusion of “peace within.”

A mentor may only have one way to teach. One way to encourage. One way to get you to move in the direction they may see for you.

What I learned from this mentor is that I want to be a diverse mentor. Many ways to facilitate ones best. I want to encourage others to become their best self not the version I think they should be.

While my past mentor may think the view from my mountaintop is “suffering” I am experiencing an entirely different perspective.

Stand proud on your mountain. MF
