It’s like treading water that’s rising.
Your eyes, nose and mouth are out.
Just above the level to survive.
You work to create space. Comfort.
The water recedes for a moment.
Shoulder level. Neck is clear.
Then boom. It’s back at your chin.
Threatening to overtake you.
You relaxed for a second. Now look.
Your legs are tired. Shoulders burning.
You either get better or drown.
Relentless. No rest. Never stops.
Just keep kicking. Keep kicking.
